Zotec Answers: What is the latest on a possible federal moratorium on state AI legislation?
December 12, 2025
In this episode of Zotec Answers, Jennifer Fox and Megan Applegarth break down the latest developments surrounding a possible federal moratorium on state AI legislation. They discuss how conflicting regulations and a shifting federal landscape could create new compliance and operational challenges for physicians and medical practices
This episode was recorded and produced just before the Executive Order establishing a federal moratorium on state-level AI regulation was signed (12/11/2025). Moreover, the order establishes a unified federal framework, while also directing the creation of a new AI Litigation Task Force, and additionally tying certain broadband funding eligibility to state compliance. As a result, we’ll continue to monitor these important developments and, in turn, share timely updates as they become available.
