CMS released the Calendar Year 2026 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule Proposed Rule.
On July 14, 2025, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released the 2026 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (MPFS) proposed rule, which includes payment provisions and policy changes to the Quality Payment Program (QPP) and Alternative Payment Model (APM) options and requirements for 2026.
The MPFS 2026 proposed rule is subject to a 60-day comment period, ending 9/12/25. CMS is then expected to issue the MPFS 2026 final rule in early to mid-November with an effective date of 1/1/26.
